THE OFFICES OF RIVER STREET ARCHITECTURE

River Street Architecture leased a former downtown hotel for its offices. The historic structure was revealed by removing the former office renovation. It was a goal to make the building as energy efficient as possible and several strategies were employed to source resource efficient and "natural" materials. Some of these included installing a modular low intensity green roof system, building casework items from agricultural waste product materials, and fabricating the second floor railings from found metal sheets discarded after industrial manufacturing processes. This project was the first in Chattanooga to receive LEED certification and was designed and managed with Blythe Bailey under the oversight of River Street Architecture.
